Mt Tolmie Conservancy Association

Organization Mandate
We aim to attempt restoration of Mt Tolmie Park i.e. remove the invasive exotics, plant native species where needed incuding Garry Oak trees and their associated shrubs and where able to educated.

Locations
Mt Tolmie Park is a District of Saanich Natural Park so designated, roughly 50 acres in size, bounded on the east by the District of Oak Bay border, on the north by Cedar Hill X Road, on the west by Richmond and on the south by the residential area.

Current Activities and Projects
Each year from October to the end of January efforts are made to remove Scotch Broom and Himalyan Blackberry particularly. Please see the Mt Tolmie Conservancy web site for restoration work party events.

Completed Activities and Projects
Planting of over 2000 Garry Oak seedlings, and over 700 shrubs such as Ocean Spray, Snowberry and several years of removing broom and blackberries.
