Current Activities and Projects
School Activities Coordination

A number of schools and the University of Victoria, all located within the Bowker Creek watershed, have conducted a variety of activities concerned with the monitoring and restoration of the stream and riparian zones. The Friends of Bowker Creek Society would like to become a co-ordinator, facilitator, and information collector for these activities, so that duplication of effort may be minimized and that the information gathered is made available when needed for planning.

Stream Cleanup

An ongoing requirement for removing shopping carts, cans, bottles, and a variety of garbage from the stream.

Annual Ducky Race

Initiated by the students at Oak Bay High school this day-long event features a stream cleanup, a sponsored-rubber-duck race near Oak Bay High, and information displays as a community awareness raising activity.
