The Cascadia Region Green Building Council is a cross-border organization based on the Cascadia bioregion with branches in Alaska, British Columbia, Washington State and Oregon. Current Activities and Projects
Activities and projects include hosting workshops, seminars and lectures on topics relevant to green building; promoting a green building standard, the Living Building Challenge, and a green product rating system, entitled Pharos; and a Sustainability Academy providing education and certification on green building issues. The Living Building Challenge was launched in 2007 to all building owners, design professionals, engineers and builders to build in a way that provides for a sustainable future. The first projects built to the Living Building standard as now being completed, while others are under construction or being planned. Fundraising Initiatives
Fundraising initiatives includes individual memberships, event sponsorship and donations through the Friends of Cascadia program. Partners

Cascadia publishes a bimonthly e-magazine, Trim Tab. Subscribe via www.cascadiagbc.org. Cascadia also publishes white papers on green building related topics that are assessible by members of it's International Living Building Institute. Volunteers Required
Volunteers are always welcome to assist with Vancouver Island Branch events and expand the activities of the Branch.
